Thanks to community support, the Norwood Park Foundation was able to accomplish the years of work necessary to reach “shovel-ready” at the Norwood site. NPF had to step back from the project in 2022 and is no longer active, but there are still ways YOU can help the Norwood Project move forward. Your advocacy can make a difference!
- Email the Mayor and your City Council member with this single link. Tell them you care about Norwood and want to see it finished! THIS ACTION may be the most important thing you can do to help the project. Remember, Norwood can serve EVERYONE in Austin, in every district and all visitors, as a special rental venue – not just nearby residents!
- Advocate for Norwood with the Parks Board, the SRCC neighborhood org, our larger parks nonprofits like the Austin Parks Foundation and the Trail Foundation (Norwood is located along the hike-and-bike trail), and Preservation Austin. Let them know you want this publicly-owned asset returned to the people for full use and enjoyment. Advocacy matters!
- Contact Wolf Sittler to learn about a new group called Revive Norwood Alliance. Wolf is a longtime resident of Travis Heights who was the 1st Pres. of NPF, is liaison to the SRCC on Norwood, and is very interested in hearing from all who want to see the project finished! wolfvsittler@gmail.com
Together, we can do this! Please join with past efforts to bring the Norwood House back for our kids and future generations, and by doing so:
