Week of September 16, 2013

2013/9/15 21:03:26

Week of 9/16/13 – Things are moving steadily along toward restoration of the Norwood House. Now that the project has officially launched with PARD & the City, the pace may actually slow down a bit – but that doesn’t mean things aren’t happening. They’re merely taking on a more plodding & predictable track, and the work is now being spread amongst more people. Our exciting news for last week was the arrival of the new digital survey; we’ve been eagerly anticipating this because an updated version was needed before our architects & civil engineer could move forward with their work. The Norwood tract had not been surveyed in about 30 years and with its wildly varying topography (have you been out there lately?), getting it finished was quite the challenge for the survey team!

NPF also visited with a committee of the Historic Landmarks Commission last week. We’re on track to submit a formal application in October for our Certificate of Appropriateness – a crucial early step.
