Week of March 31, 2014

2014/3/31 21:34:06

Week of 3/31/14 – The arrival of spring is bringing a beehive of activity to the Norwood project, so much that it’s been hard to keep up. A good problem to have! Last week the geotechnical team was at the site drilling core samples; happily, we hit rock quickly. We’re also digging out a couple of the old piers to see exactly what’s holding the house up now. All this discovery will help us re-engineer Norwood’s pier & beam foundation for the next hundred years.

We’re still awaiting the final green light on remediation but anticipate it will be very soon. We’re beginning the early, quiet phase of fundraising. Coordination of design work regarding interior, landscape & site requirements continues. We’re working on grant applications. And new people are joining us. Through it all, the Norwood house stands, stoic & dignified even in its lamentable, extremely fragile state..practically begging us, “please hurry.” We’re trying, sweet bungalow. Not long now.
