Week of March 3, 2014

2014/3/1 16:08:16

Week of 03/03/14 – This week is momentous for Norwood; we expect to get the green light on our very thorough & comprehensive plan to environmentally abate the house. Once we have that approval, we can bid the work and get underway.

Beyond abatement, we’ve just wrapped up consultations with local caterers who pitched in to help us get the most bang for our buck with the Norwood kitchen. From here we take all the advice into a design meeting next week that will culminate in a new floor plan for the house. Thank you catering friends – it’s been kinda fun learning the difference between a residential kitchen and a rental venue kitchen.

In other news, we were approached recently about utilizing Norwood as a “haunted house” film set. Eureka! Even though we can’t use the house for ANYTHING until it’s abated, the inquiry set us thinking. With its amazing view and its charm even as a ruin, perhaps our bungalow can start earning money for its transformation sooner than we thought. I see a high fashion shoot and some local TV commercials against the backdrop of Norwood & the city skyline, don’t you? We’ll keep you (and the creative community in Austin) posted.
