Week of 6/09/14 – What a change at the Norwood House! Environmental remediation is OVER. May I say again…hurray! This represents accomplishment of the critical, very difficult first step of Phase I, and allows us to move forward on everything else. Granted, the house still looks pretty grim, with its patchwork plywood covering, temporary vinyl roof, and special encapsulation paint slapped on. Don’t worry – it’s all part of the transformation. What’s exciting is what you behold when you look inside: removal of the old plaster has made it possible for us to see through those studs and envision the open floor plan of the future. The natural light that pours in through Norcliff’s many windows is stunning. It’s going to be wonderful.
We’re now shifting focus to the bungalow’s foundation, which needs considerable attention. And we’re beginning the complex work of the site plan with a great team of folks. Lots to keep us busy over a long hot summer!
