Week of August 19, 2013

2013/8/20 18:00:00

Weeks of 8/19 & 8/26/13 – Are you ready for some NOR-WOOD?? I’m liking the sound of that jingle. The official “Kickoff” meeting for the Norwood project, with our PARD & other City counterparts, was Monday 8/19. A momentous event in the history of the effort to save the house. All were able to put names to faces and begin discussions that will eventually bring full implementation of NPF’s Parkland Agreement. Our project manager, Burke Fort, now gets to be NPF’s contact w/ the City. Burke will really be utilizing his formidable juggling skills as we pull the trigger on myriad, long-planned initiatives.

First up is securing Norwood in a more significant way, so talks on construction fencing, lighting & security, as well as the toxic abatement that must be accomplished before any other work can take place, are happening in earnest now. Lots of new people at the City to deal with and boards & commissions to visit. We’re on it! Some of us w/ NPF are still wrapping up summer travels, too – look for more news & weekly updates after Labor Day. Game on.
